Privacy and security

What SnapID Mark stores and where, who can see your photos, what the public verification page shows and why the app needs camera and location.

This page summarises how SnapID Mark handles your data. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Your data and who can see it

What the app stores:

  • Account: name, email, sign-in method.
  • Photos (original and stamped), capture time, precise location at capture, notes, signatures, custom fields, stamp templates.
  • Technical information used to check photos: phone model, operating system, whether the phone is rooted or jailbroken.

Data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase in the Singapore region. The app has no ads. The address, weather and map on the stamp come from Google Maps Platform via SnapID’s servers.

Who can see your photos:

  • Personal photos: only you, in the app.
  • Business photos: the Owner and Admins of that business. Members can see their own photos while they are in the business.
  • Anyone with the SnapID code or QR: sees the verification page with a thumbnail, the capture time, the area rounded to about 1 km (not the exact location), the workspace name (unless hidden) and fields marked public. Think before sharing the code of a sensitive photo.

Retention and deletion:

  • Businesses decide how long original photos are kept, depending on their plan. When an original expires, the stamped copy and its fingerprint are kept, so the photo can still be verified.
  • You can delete photos in the app, or delete your account. Work photos belong to the business, which decides what happens to them.
